Garden Toddler, May 2013

Along the red wall, there are newly sprouted Scarlet Runner Beans; on the patio side, I planted chard which I got to eat fresh a couple of times per week for the first half of our summer (mm mmm!).  The raised pot has a baby red pepper plant -- this is the first time I've ever had a hope of growing a pepper as I've never had enough sun before.  Lastly, the spiky looking reeds in the distant planter are leeks :-)

It's the cutest little red pepper plant that you ever did see.

The sugar peas were happy to oblige my dream of edible green taking over the ugly chain-link fence.  Aren't they great?

From closest to farthest: pumpkin sprout (round planter in foreground), lettuce and spinach heads with un-sprouted cucumber seeds along the fence (rectangular planter), and butterhead lettuce along with leeks in metal planter (background.)

Nothing much to see...yet.

I took my kick-ass 69 year old mom snowshoeing for the first time this year!

Yep, she brought the bluetooth :-)

Mom saluting tree?

Look how comfortable she is on snowshoes -- go, Mom!

It was a great day and an honor to introduce my mom to snowshoeing on our beautiful Wy'east mountain-top.
